The Dignity Memorial Wall Experience

This past Saturday we took some time to visit a unique site that has some significance for our family. The Dignity Memorial Vietnam Wall Experience is a traveling three-quarter-scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C., and it was recently installed at Resthaven Cemetery here in the Des Moines area. Since 1990, the [...]

Setting up for Corners Mid-Flight

Saving time on the track is always a priority.  If you can master a technique to get faster, you better take advantage of it.  When things get tight during racing, it?s the little things that add up and make a big difference in the end, especially if you can set up for corner more efficiently.  [...]

2012 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Series, an FIM World Championship - Oakland Recap, Anaheim 2 Preview

Updated 2:30pm! Last Saturday night, the Oakland round of the 2012 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Series showed that this season may be another one for the ages. James Stewart became the fourth rider in four rounds to win the premier Supercross Class, while Eli Tomac became the first repeat winner of the 250 Lites Class for 2012.

Stewart?s win was his first since April of 2011, and it did not come easily. Off the start, Chad Reed had an excellent jump, grabbed the holsehot and immediately opened a small gap over Andrew Short and Josh Hansen. Stewart, Ryan Villopoto, and Ryan Dungey all had mid pack starts, and spent the first few laps fighting their way through the field in order to battle for the lead. And battle they did.

RJ Says - Speed or Consistency?

After the Anaheim II Supercross, it?s looking like a four man race for the coveted title of 2012 AMA Supercross Series Champion.

With everybody still healthy and strong, this is shaping up to be one of the most competitive years in Supercross ever. Most seasons in the past the title has come down to one or two guys - but right now there is a major the contrast in the consistency of Chad Reed and Ryan Dungey versus the brutal speed of Ryan Villopoto and James Stewart.

MX Adventures: Leaving the West Coast ... talking with Kevin Windham

{jvideo id=259 height=378 width=660 autoPlay=0}

Who dat?

This week I caught up with Kevin Windham. In the video below, Kevin Windham talks about the Superbowl Champions, the NFL's New Orleans Saints, his family, his future plans for racing and beyond.

The Superbowl XLIV champions, the New Orleans Saints, have many fans - among them is none other than the number 14 in Supercross, Kevin Windham. While the NFL season started when Supercross was in its off season, Kevin was able to take part in season tickets to his favorite NFL team - da' Saints. Eventually the 2010 Supercross season got underway in January, which meant Kevin was flying off after those Saturday night Main Events back East to watch the New Orleans Saints Playoff games.

On February 7, 2010 the New Orleans Saints headed to the Superbowl in Miami, Florida and Kevin Windham and his wife Dottie made arrangements to attend this momentous occasion. First, however Kevin had to finish up a Supercross race in San Diego the night before.
