Preview of Round 4 AMA Motocross at Budds Creek MX

The AMA Motocross Series head to Maryland for Round 4. Chad Reed and Tyla Rattray lead the Motocross and 250 MX Lites Series championship point standings respectively.

Info from MXSports:

With three rounds complete in the 2011 Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship, a trio of riders are shaping the battle for the premier 450 Class title - TwoTwo Motorsports/Bel-Ray Racing's Chad Reed, Monster Energy Kawasaki's Ryan Villopoto and Rockstar/Makita Suzuki's Ryan Dungey. This weekend, these three former champions and the rest of the world's fastest riders travel to Budds Creek MX Park, in Mechanicsville, Md., for Saturday's MotoTees Budds Creek National.

Reed secured the early advantage in the championship this summer, grabbing the overall victory through the first two rounds of competition. Behind him, Dungey kicked off his title defense with a pair of strong runs, and despite some misfortune at the second round from Freestone Raceway, has remained a player in the title fight. However, this past weekend at High Point Raceway, in Mt. Morris, Pa., Villopoto solidified himself as a third contender, breaking through with his best outing of the young season, and capturing his first overall win since his 450 Class debut in 2009.

MX Adventures: Leaving the West Coast ... talking with Kevin Windham

{jvideo id=259 height=378 width=660 autoPlay=0}

Who dat?

This week I caught up with Kevin Windham. In the video below, Kevin Windham talks about the Superbowl Champions, the NFL's New Orleans Saints, his family, his future plans for racing and beyond.

The Superbowl XLIV champions, the New Orleans Saints, have many fans - among them is none other than the number 14 in Supercross, Kevin Windham. While the NFL season started when Supercross was in its off season, Kevin was able to take part in season tickets to his favorite NFL team - da' Saints. Eventually the 2010 Supercross season got underway in January, which meant Kevin was flying off after those Saturday night Main Events back East to watch the New Orleans Saints Playoff games.

On February 7, 2010 the New Orleans Saints headed to the Superbowl in Miami, Florida and Kevin Windham and his wife Dottie made arrangements to attend this momentous occasion. First, however Kevin had to finish up a Supercross race in San Diego the night before.
