You know the names: Villopoto, Dungey, Reed, Wilson, Rattray, Baggett. They are the cream of the crop in the 2011 AMA Pro MX Series. This week, the series heads to round nine at the world famous and historic racing circuit of Unadilla.
There is a ferocious battle in the 450 MX class between Ryan Villopoto (current Supercross Champion), Ryan Dungey (2010 Supercross Champion, defending Motocross Champion) and Chad Reed (two-time AMA Supercross Series Champion, 2009 AMA MX Champion). Just nine point separate these three riders coming into Unadilla, and it should be a battle right down to the wire when the series concludes next month at Pala Raceway in San Diego County. In the 250 MX Lites Class, the Monster Energy /Pro Circuit / Kawasaki trio of Dean Wilson, Tyla Rattray and Blake Baggett have basically put all other competitors to shame - the PC trio is dominating, with Wilson on top of the points heading into Unadilla. If you'd like to catch up on what's happening in the series, review the last event in Washougal to see current point standings and more. And speaking of previous race, flashback to Unadilla 2010!Source: http://www.supercross.com/news/ama-national-motocross-preview-unadilla-new-york-round-9
